A few weeks ago, speculation about the suspension of the Special EPS-TOPIK came out on EPS Facebook groups. This was before the announcement of the EPS-TOPIK 2017. The Special EPS-TOPIK is the test given to former EPS employees who would like to return to Korea after their contract or visa has expired. It is conducted four times a year. The last one was held in November 2016.
On January 25, 2017, the Human Resources Development Korea (HRD Korea) posted on its official website the temporary suspension of the Special EPS-TOPIK.

As stated in the announcement, THERE WILL BE NO SPECIAL EPS-TOPIK for this year. HOWEVER, the REGULAR EPS-TOPIK for new EPS aspirants will be conducted as scheduled earlier. This should not cause confusion among employees. Also, Korea will still be hiring SINCERE WORKERS.
HRD Korea will make an announcement if and when the Special EPS-TOPIK is resumed.
As of this posting, no official word has come from the Philippine agencies ~ POEA or the Philippine Embassy in Seoul.

Ang Special EPS-TOPIK ay isang paraan para ang mga empleyado na EPS ay maaaring makabalik sa Korea pagkatapos ng kanilang kontrata. Kailangan lang nila na umuwi pagkatapos ng visa o kontrata at umupo sa eksamen ng Special EPS-TOPIK. Ito ay ginagawa apat na beses sa isang taon.
Para sa taong 2017, inilabas na ng HRD Korea ang opisyal na anunsyo na pansamantalang walang Special EPS-TOPIK. PERO makakabalik pa rin ang mga manggagawa sa pamamagitan ng RE-ENTRY BY COMMITTED WORKERS o yung tinatawag na SINCERE WORKER. Tuloy pa rin ang regular na EPS-TOPIK para sa mga bagong aplikante papuntang Korea, ito ay base sa naunang anunsyo.
Sa ngayon, wala pang opisyal na pahayag mula sa POEA o sa Embahada ng Pilipinas.

o po ask ko lang po sana about sa eps, paano po ba kapag na-cancel ang contract? kwento ko lang po yunh boyfriend ko po kc april 2016 nagka employer na po sya kaso na-cancel po dahil po sa health issue, nagka fatty liver po kc sya, then ang sabi po sa kanya kaylangan muna magpalipas ng 1yr para magka employer po sya ulit, and yun nga po hanggang ngayon waiting pa rin po sya pero nag follow up po sya last month para ipakita yung result na ok na po liver nya, lagi lang po kc sinasabi wait lang daw po, syempre sa side po namin parang wala pong kasiguraduhan.. ano po kaya pwedwng gawin? Sana po may makabasa at may makapag advice po samin, hirap po kc makahanap ng taong mapagtatanungan

Hi Ron! Base sa requirements at experience ng iba, maliit ang chance. Isa kasi sa requiremtn ay walang order of deportation sa record.
meron po kasi ko friend dati sya tnt di sya makabalik dahil permanent ban year 1996 pa yata yun. tapos nagkaroon ng after 5 years ban kaya nag apply sya ulit . nakapasok naman, year 2006 sya naka pasok ng korea. di ko alam kung ganun rin mangyari sa akin. hindi po kaya ako ipahold ng eps sa emigration pag iprocess ang visa? tnx po
